Kathy Parrish

Pastor Kathy: Pastor in Charge and Licensed Local Preacher in the AMEZ Church. 

Kathy and Jeff Parrish came to Pauline Memorial AME Zion Church on July 7th, 2019 after being assigned at the end of the Oregon-Washington Annual Conference which was held in Seattle, Washington. 

Kathy is a 1983 High School Graduate from Fort Vancouver. Kathy accepted Christ at an early age of 11-years old at a bible camp that she attended with other young people from Open Bible Community Church. She joined Community AME Zion Church 1978 in which she served faithfully until her departure her Pastor/ Mentor was Rev. Joyce M Smith.  Kathy was active in Christian Education from the time she was 16 years old which she served as a local and conference youth council president. She was appointed as the District Director of Christian Education and served in that capacity for 25 years and then as the Conference Director for 6 additional years. 

Kathy accepted her call to ministry in October 2018 at Community AME Zion Church, and in May 2019 she was recommended by Pastor Joyce M. Smith to the Quarterly Conference to be licensed as a Local Preacher in the AME Zion Church. Kathy has a Love for Christ that is genuine and real because of who he is in her. Kathy trusts the process that Jesus Christ is taking her through. Kathy is in her 1st year of studies as required by the AME Zion Church. She is excited to serve in any capacity but has fallen in love with the congregation at Pauline Memorial AME Zion Church. 

Kathy is married to Jeffery A. Parrish Sr of 30 years; she has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She is also employed by the City of Vancouver for over 20 years. Kathy lives her life as an example as to how God can change a person from the inside out. Her thematic Scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
